WHAT IS THE BANKRUPTCY 341 MEETING?
The Bankruptcy 341 Meeting is where your Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 Trustee conducts an examination of you the debtor. The Trustee will check to see if the papers were filed in accordance with the Rules of the Court, if the proper exemptions were taken and attempt to ascertain whether your testimony is truthful. It is the Trustee’s job to look for non-exempt assets that can be used to pay your creditors.
The Bankrtupcy 341 Meeting usually lasts an average of 10 minutes.
341 Meetings are held in the Bankruptcy Court for your county of residence.
